Infrastructure & Public Works
Senator Campbell fought hard to bring essential infrastructure improvements to the district. The Bal Harbour Village Bakers Haulover Inlet Bypassing Project received its full requested amount of $750,000, while the Bal Harbour Village Roadway Infrastructure Improvements and Rehabilitation project secured $500,000 of the $1,618,576 requested — though both were ultimately vetoed.
The City of North Miami Beach Master Force Main Installation received $400,000 of the $670,650 requested, and Aventura's NE 183rd St Seawall Restoration Improvements secured $200,000 of the $544,214 requested. The North Miami Arch Creek North/South Drainage Improvement Basin C project received its full requested amount of $496,750.
Senator Campbell also championed a number of vital community programs. The Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach received both $66,501 in recurring funds and $333,499 in non-recurring funds. The Jesus Christ Arch Angels Liberty Square Program secured $100,000 of the $1,275,000 requested, and No One Left Behind received its full requested amount of $150,000. The Project Be Strong Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program also received its full requested amount of $50,000.
On the economic development front, the Poinciana Park Intermodal Logistic Center secured $2,000,000 of the $25,000,000 requested. Biscayne Green received $1,000,000 of the $10,000,000 requested, though it was vetoed. The City of Miami Beach North Beach Business Incubator secured $200,000 of the $1,000,000 requested but was also vetoed.
The Village of Biscayne Park Street & Infrastructure Improvements received its full requested amount of $915,000, though it was ultimately vetoed.
Senator Campbell continued her strong commitment to education by securing funding for Miami Dade College. The Remodel/Renovation of Facilities (Gym) for the Justice Center — North Campus received its full requested amount of $1,697,180, and Miami Dade College received its full general appropriation of $127,972,871.
