As the 2018 legislative session came to a close, the results of Senator Campbell's tireless advocacy became clear. Of the projects she introduced into HB 5001, several secured their full requested amounts, while others received partial funding — and a number were unfortunately vetoed despite passing through both chambers.
Here is a breakdown of the final outcomes:
A total of $43,117,904 was requested across all projects introduced by Senator Campbell. Through persistent negotiation and advocacy, $7,094,749 was successfully secured for District 38 communities prior to conference. Regrettably, $3,165,000 in approved funding was ultimately vetoed, impacting several key infrastructure and economic development projects that had already cleared the legislative process.
Despite the vetoes, Senator Campbell remained committed to fighting for every dollar her district deserved — and her work during the 2018 session stands as a testament to her dedication to the people of Senate District 38.
